Pope Francis’s 2016 Amoris Laetitia asks Catholics to take greater responsibility for making sound ethical and moral choices. But “morality” is a complicated term, theologically and historically. This three hour morning of reflection, based primarily on chapters 6 and 7 of the pope’s exhortation, explores morality not as a list of rules but as possibilities for valuable action created in the midst of our personal, family, and cultural contexts. Through a series of conversations and exercises, we will reflect on how Pope Francis's moral vision helps us to see our lives as open-ended stories of risk, worth, and redemption
