The Christ the King Grief Ministry offers care and support to parishioners who experience the death of a loved one. Calls, visits, and grief sessions are provided and grief materials are available after a death to support those in our parish who are grieving.
A funeral planner has been prepared by Christ the King Church to assist families, planning a Mass of Christian Burial or Memorial Service for a loved one. It is our hope that by choosing the readings and music with your loved one in mind, you and your family might participate more fully in the liturgy and express your love for the deceased. Contact Margaret Emsweller in the parish office at 615-777-8918 to plan a funeral at Christ the King. A copy is available below for preplanning your funeral or the funeral of a loved one.
A Mass of Remembrance and reception is held in November to remember those who have gone before us. The Mass also includes recognition of parishioners who have died in the past year.
Grief Support Group Sessions
Christ the King provides a 6 week Grief Support Group for those who have suffered the loss of a loved one. We offer a safe space to share and be with others experiencing grief, who will listen and offer their support.
