  A lector, or reader, assists by proclaiming the first and second readings from Sacred Scripture. Lectors may also provide the responsorial psalm, in the absence of a cantor. It is regarded as a ministry that is a public service provided by members of the faith community, the Body of Christ on earth.
  
  Lectors at Christ the King are expected to practice their readings before Mass, so that they can expressively proclaim the Word. Trainings for new lectors will be held periodically throughout the year. Please contact Paz Haynes if you are interested in joining this ministry.
