September 1 was proclaimed as the World Day of Prayer for Creation by the Orthodox Church in 1989 and many other Christian Church have joined since then with Pope Francis most recently in 2015. It was then extended to be a month-long Season of Creation, ending on October 4, the Feast of St. Francis. We are asked to make a special effort pray for and take practical steps to protect the environment during this season. See Pope Francis' Prayer for our Earth on the website.

Parishioner, Ricky Shinall, will offer presentations on scripture on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Room of the Parish Center

DIGGING TO AMERICA by Anne Tyler In "Digging to America," two families meet in the summer of 1997 at a Baltimore airport lounge as each awaits the arrival of a baby girl from Korea. ...Improbably, the two families strike up a lasting friendship. What force could fuse two such mismatched clans? At first, with the introduction of a joint annual "Arrival Party" conceived by the Donaldsons, it seems nothing more than the desire to help their daughters fit in. But it soon becomes clear that the babies aren't the only ones whose foothold needs securing. These little girls will give new direction — and new purpose — to their parents and grandparents too.

We are in great need of more adults and teens to lead Children's Liturgy during our 11:00 Mass each Sunday. We also need more teen assistants. If you would like to get involved, please contact kathy.skinner@ctk-nashville.org.

We will celebrate the anniversary of the laying of the church cornerstone and dedicate our new fountain and courtyard (by the St. Joseph Chapel) following the 6 pm Mass on Monday evening. All are invited to join in the celebration.
