The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is available to our parishioners whose health has changed or anticipate surgery in the near future. When the Sacrament is given, the hoped-for effect is that, if it is God's will, the person be physically healed of illness. But even if there is no physical healing, the primary effect of the Sacrament is a spiritual healing by which the sick person receives the Holy Spirit's gift of peace and courage to deal with the difficulties that accompany serious illness or the frailty of old age. Pastoral Care Ministry
The Pastoral Care Ministry provides visits and spiritual support to the elderly or individuals after a hospitalization or during an illness. Pastoral Care Ministers bring the Eucharist to parishioners in their home or a senior living facility. Visits are scheduled weekly for our seniors unable to attend Mass on a regular basis or temporarily while recovering from an illness. If you would like information regarding home or facility visits for yourself or someone else, or if you are interested in training to become a Pastoral Care Minister, contact Margaret Emsweller in the parish office @ 615-777-8918 or margaret.emsweller@ctk-nashville.org.
