This workshop is for parishioners of Christ the King interested in using writing to process current racial injustices in our world, reflect on how race and racism have impacted all of us, and create a more just, loving, and equitable society. Open to writers of all levels.

Janine is the Strategic Funding and Initiatives Manager for Metro Arts: Nashville Office of Arts and Culture. After working for over a decade at the intersection of art and community building, she returned to school to earn her Master of Education degree in Community, Development, and Action from Vanderbilt University. She currently oversees the implementation of the Metro Arts funding, youth, and racial equity programs including the “Power of the Pen: Antiracism through Writing” workshop. She is a CTK parishioner and lives in Nashville with her husband, two children, and a very old pit-bull.
